The HP 9000 rp24xx Series (Formerly A-Class) server includes the HP9000 rp2400, rp2405, rp2430, rp2450 and rp2470 which supplanted the HP 9000 A400 and A500 systems. The new HP Server rp2400 series was designed to meet the low-end needs of the enterprise data center as well as the needs of the IP-based service provider market. Fulfilling the need for faster, smaller servers, the rp2400 series delivers industry-leading symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) performance, with up to two PA-8700, PA-8600, or PA-8500 processors in a 2-EIA-unit chassis. In addition, the rp2400 series offers high-availability features normally found only in larger, more expensive servers. Hot-plug disks, memory scrubbing and page deallocation, dynamic processor deallocation and resilience, independent PCI buses, independent SCSI controllers, failure avoidance and notification capability, and MC/Serviceguard support are all standard. |
