The SGI O2 and O2+ workstations have eight sockets (four banks of two) available for memory. Standard memory is either 64MB or 128MB (removable) and upgrade options are available in 64, 128 and 256MB synchronous DRAM kits using two 288-bit wide DIMMs to reach a maximum of 1GB. Kits are compatible with R5K, RM5200, R7K, R10K and R12K processors and can be mixed and matched. Since the O2 utilizes a Unified Memory Architecture (UMA) to deliver incredible internal bandwidth and accelerated graphics in order to maximize performance, we recommend you maximize your system's memory. |
