The SGI Onyx 3000 Series of systems uses a Brick oriented technology. The bricks are highly specialized and are used for Compute (C-Brick & CX-Brick), Routing (R-Brick), I/O (I-Brick & IX-Brick), PCI (P-Brick & PX-Brick), XIO (X-Brick), Connecting Graphics Pipes w/ Compute (N-Brick), Infinite Reality Graphics Modules (G-Brick), InfinitePerformance Graphics Modules (V-Brick) and Disk (D-Brick2). The Bricks are interconnected through a series of very high-speed cables. |
